In addition to THE HAIRTH 2008 our usual superb full scale three day weekend extravaganza, all who wish to become a DOONHAME FRIEND OF KNOCKENGORROCH are offered four preceding happy days of upland magic. On the Bo Airigh stage, in the Shieling, the Cabaret stage, the Tallyn and the Longhouse this September: The amazing WARSAW VILLAGE BAND create bio techno fusion old and new, RORY MACLEOD the inimitable troubador, and ultimate dubsters NUCLEUS ROOTS. Experience the Northumbrian enchantment of the KATHERINE TICKELL BAND, and the rally call of music rebels CHUMBAWAMBA. Bhundu boy RISE KAGONA & CHAMPION DOUG VEITCH interpret Zimbabwe rhythm Knockengorroch style. KANGAROO MOON return to deliver Celtic crossover with a driving outback flavour. Afro-Celt kora magician N'FALY KOUYATE & DUNYAKAN greet the hills. Hear JOCK TAMSON'S BAIRNS, Scots tradition at its finest. BOMBSKARE madness make it super Ska. Latin flamenco wizards MAS Y MAS add heat to Afro-Cuban celtic rhythms. BIG HAND rude boys are back ! PLUS DON'T MISS Junction Pool, Warblefly, Jacobs Pillow, Digitalis, The Banana Sessions, Sabai, Black Cat, Wierdstring, Martyn Wheeler, Crazy Paving, Kirti Mandir, Nawa Kyipo and TROUBLE dance floor madness, plus MUNGO’S HI-FI Glasgow’s leading reggae outfit, TEPOOKA fire spectacular and many more performers. Other attractions include our TIGTRI CHILDRENS TENT: creative workshops,for kids of all ages including Kids’ Percussion & Procession., plus late night dj’s in the dance tent, headset disco, cinema, late night Cabaret, Open mic, Storytelling, Poetry, street theatre, The Green Shee, Healing Area, Palm Reading and yet more fantastic musical and spoken word performance in the unique and atmospheric LONGHOUSE. Also Visit Al Khema acoustic village for spontaneous music making throught the weekend-join in or just listen! All this and global shopping, good food , including Glasgow’s TCHAI OVNA not to mention the well-stocked FRAOCH CABARET and SHIELING BARS, serving real Heather Ale, cocktails and other favourites
